.....from an early age Steve was incorporating NLP techniques into
his life without even realising it!
In his teenage years he was an outstanding footballer
and, playing for West Ham United, competed against the likes of
David Beckham and Sol Campbell.
When his footballing career was cut short due to injury,
he retained a positive attitude and moved into a new career in
the Financial Futures Markets. After enjoying eight successful
years of working in the city, he started to feel like it was
time for a change.
“I enjoyed the time I spent working in the
city, but started to feel that there was something more to life
and that my future lay elsewhere. I wasn’t sure in which
direction I wanted to go but I knew that if I stayed positive
and open to any opportunities, that something would soon present
itself.”
Sure enough he soon received a call from an
old friend, offering him a chance to coach Soccer in America for
a large sports company. It was here that his talent for coaching
came to the fore. Although he was primarily coaching soccer
skills, his way with people soon led him to be the director of
the camps he was involved with. It wasn’t long before people
were commenting on how his training had not only helped them
improve their soccer skills, but had inspired them in their
personal lives as well.
It was this feedback that opened his eyes to his
potential for a future in the motivational field.
He began to study NLP techniques, Life
Coaching and the Art of Positive Thinking – as well as learning
from his Mother who is a Metaphysical Counsellor and Trainer.
After beginning this new career coaching friends he had met
through his time at the soccer camps, he was soon very much in
demand and was invited to travel across the country to coach
friends of friends. This led to him travelling across the
Mid-West and successfully coaching, amongst others, aspiring and
established Sports people, Businessmen and people involved in
the Media. A twist of fate then led him to the bright lights of
Los Angeles and Hollywood.
Here he helped several Actors, Musicians, Comedians and
other entertainers to further their careers.
Despite being diagnosed with Chronic
Fatigue Syndrome (a potentially disabilitating illness) in 2004,
his positive attitude and use of NLP techniques on himself
enabled him to continue his trips to America until, in 2006 he
decided to turn his attentions back to home and setting up his
practice back in Brentwood Essex.
Steven now works in association with Sara
Wilson, providing private and corporate courses and workshops,
as well as continuing with personal one to one coaching
sessions.
