Your Therapy.....
If you choose me as your therapist, then the therapy which you partake in will be a bespoke plan created especially for you from the wide range of therapeutic techniques available to me.
I say ‘partake in’ rather than ‘receive’, as my therapy is always an interactive experience. The best way to explain this is to say it is a 50/50 type of therapy, whereby we will work as a team to determine your desired outcome and to achieve the best possible results for you.
I will always be completely committed to helping you achieve you goals, but your full commitment will also be needed in order for us to maximise our success.
The types of therapy used will be tailored to your specific needs and personality, and may include some or all of the following:
Hypno-analysis, Regression therapy, Hypno-suggestion, CBT (Cognative Behavioural Therapy, and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming,).
You can find more information about these therapeutic styles on the
Types of Therapy page.
Consultations
It is absolutely essential for the success of therapy, that you
feel completely comfortable, confident and happy working with
me, and vice versa. Because of this, (with the exception of
smoking cessation therapy) I always conduct a reduced fee 30
minute Initial Consultation, to give you the chance to ask any
questions you may have and to decide whether I am the right
therapist for you.
This consultation also gives me the chance to
assess your particular problem, and decide whether or not I can
offer the best therapy available for you. If I do not feel that
this is the case, then because of my commitment to your
wellbeing, I will never hesitate to refer you, with your
permission, to someone who I feel has more expertise in the area
which you require.
I will never take on a client whom I do not
genuinely feel that I can help and, because of this, I will
waive the initial consultation fee for anyone who I cannot agree
to take forward into therapy. Because of the strict rules which
I adhere to through the codes of conduct of my professional
associations, as well as my own strong beliefs about my
responsibilities as a therapist, you can always be confident
that anything you discuss with me, even on an initial
consultation, will remain completely confidential.
Number of Sessions
If we do agree to proceed with your therapy, then I will give an
estimate of the number of sessions necessary at the end of your
initial consultation. This can range from anything from one to
twelve sessions.
My estimates are normally accurate to within
one or two sessions, although I will be completely flexible
throughout and always try to achieve the best results possible
in the least number of sessions necessary.
This is another rule
which I adhere to both through the codes of my associations as
well as my own code of ethics. I must stress again however, that
the speed and level of your success, will be equally dependent
upon your willingness to be open and honest with me, and to work
with me at every stage of the process, as it will be upon my
skills and effort to help you.
I have included an estimate of
the usual number of sessions required to deal with some specific
issues on the ‘Symptoms and Conditions’ page.
Length and Frequency of Sessions
Sessions are planned to last for 60 mins, but I always allow an
additional 15 mins between appointments to allow us to finish
working through any important issues that may come up towards
the end of a session. I usually recommend that your sessions are
conducted on a weekly basis, but this will again be tailored to
your specific needs.
Session Fees
The cost of therapy will again vary for each individual
depending on the type and length of therapy required, as well as
on the location. Because of this I do not show prices on my
web-site, but will be happy to discuss the price of
therapy with you over the phone prior to your initial
consultation.
Because of my own perceived moral obligation as a therapist to
help as many people as possible, I will never turn a client away
purely on the basis of affordability. Therefore if you are
genuinely unable to meet the cost of therapy at this time, then
I will be open to discussing reduced fees or a payment plan for
you.
